We’re big believers in the power of building relationships and strong connections with real humans. To help you get to know us better, we’re putting the spotlight on each of our team members. Our Meet the Team series continues this week with Luke Sophinos.

What is your role at CourseKey?

Supporting CourseKey clients, teammates, and shareholders in any way possible.

What does your day to day look like?

Day to day includes establishing the vision and direction of the business and supporting all departments and individuals in any way that I can to help drive the company forward. Externally, it includes investor relations and fundraising.

Describe your job in 5 words or fewer.

An exhilarating and impactful rollercoaster.

What is your favorite challenge of your role?

I never know what’s going to happen when I walk through the door every day. I’d say my favorite challenge is having the ability to work with a very diverse and talented group of people that have expertise in every different facet of the business. I learn from my teammates each and every day and feel so blessed to have that opportunity. To an extent, I’m a mile wide and a foot deep, and I think that’s really exciting.

What do you love most about CourseKey?

My favorite part about CourseKey is having the ability to create something that people use every day, and more importantly creating something that assists students in crossing the finish line, ultimately resulting in better life situations. I don’t think a lot of people get to say they do that every day.

What is your favorite memory from when you were a student?

Watching various entrepreneurs come in and speak to various classes and clubs I was apart of during college. It helped me realize that no one was super human, that they just had a serious passion and were willing to work extremely hard. It taught me that anybody could accomplish anything as long as they set their mind to it and worked their tail off.

If you could get on a plane to anywhere right now, where would you go?

You should have asked me this a week ago. I just got back from Greece. The next place I’d like to visit is the Amalfi Coast. That’s one place I think I would love. I enjoy nice weather and crystal clear water.
