4 Things CourseKey is Thankful For

Here at CourseKey, we treat our teammates like a family. And when you think about it, most of us really do spend more time with our colleagues than our actual families. While our team is family, we (sadly) will not be spending Thanksgiving Day together. So, we wanted to take a moment to share what we’re thankful for this year.

  1. The students. Through CourseKey, students have checked in for class 1,715,000 times, completed 612,000 assessments, asked their instructors 55,000 questions, and sent 86,000 chat messages back and forth with their classmates. Every day, we’re learning more and more about how students interact with our platform and what success truly looks like.

  2. Education. Yes, that’s broad, but to be fair, we can’t really narrow it down when we’re thankful for so many components within education. We’re thankful for the opportunities we’ve had in education. Our team has taken diverse paths in gaining education. Some of us have taken traditional college paths, some have gotten MBAs. Some have degrees from for-profit schools and we have team members who have had to take breaks from school before finishing or even started in different countries. No matter how diverse our experiences have been in gaining education, we have all been able to enhance our lives through education. Additionally, we live in a society where anyone can go back to school and change their life if they so desire, and we think that’s a pretty incredible opportunity worth expressing gratitude for.

  3. Our team. We’re so grateful that not only did we have an incredible team of founders and co-founders who came together to start CourseKey, but also for the immense potential those individuals have had for personal growth to rise to every demand of growing the company from an idea to a successful platform capable of changing the lives of those who use it. We’re also grateful for every incredible individual who has believed in our mission and brought their skill and expertise to the team since we started.

  4. You. Most of all, we’re thankful for all of you reading this. We’re thankful for you, our users, who share your wins with us as often as you share your ideas for how we can expand our platform to help you achieve even more. We’re thankful for you, our readers, who let us know what content hits, what misses, and what you want to see more of. We’re thankful for those of you who participate in our contests, for those of you who answer our feedback surveys, and for those of you who welcome us to your campuses and classrooms.

For those of you who have been with us throughout this past year, you’ve been able to see the phenomenal growth in what our team and platform is capable of. And we’re hoping you’ve been able to feel something similar through your interactions with us and time on our platform. As the year winds down and the holiday season picks up speed, we’re preparing to start focusing even more on what’s to come in 2019. For today, though, we’re thankful that you’re going to be there with us.
